The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is the world’s largest and oldest rodeo-sanctioning body. Committed to serving as a “membership-driven organization,” the PRCA hosts around 650 rodeos annually in approximately 38 states and three to four Canadian provinces. One of these stops happens to be the Woodward Elks Rodeo. Described as the “tuffest of em all,” the Woodward Elks Rodeo has welcomed contestants from near and far for 90 years. Some of these contestants have included world champions in many events, such as world champion bareback rider Tim O’Connell, saddle bronc riding world champions Jacobs Crawley, the ever so exciting wild Wade Sundell, and King of Cowboys Trevor Brazile, along with many others.
The Woodward Elks Rodeo hosted at the Crystal Bridges Arena showcases the best talent in professional rodeo, and the entertainment is beyond compare. From the infamous Slash-O-Ranch Longhorns stampeding their way into the arena, signifying more than just the beginning of our Grand Entry, to the reigning talent you see from each Miss Rodeo Oklahoma contestant waving with poise as they circle, the jokes you’ll hear from the barrel men are sure to keep your belly rolling with laughter and but of course, the sound of America’s greatest song and the beautiful flags blustering in the wind.
At our rodeo, you will see familiar faces from the top cowboys, cowgirls, and livestock athletes. The Woodward Elks Rodeo is more than a week-long event filled with bucking broncs, record-setting rides, and a hometown parade. The Woodward Elks Rodeo brings together a family, a sense of pride, education, and entertainment to visitors who travel from near and far.
